Wrapping the world’s widest-ever cereal multipack for Nestlé

It doesn’t get wider than this. Food and beverage company Nestlé approached YPS to wrap the world’s widest-ever cereal multipack (18 boxes totalling 3.5 metres), so we used a Hugo Beck Flexo X side sealer with our thinnest 9-micron BTT +90 polyolefin shrink film to finish the job with a high-shine (yet 100% recyclable) finish. Since launching the campaign in October 2022, Nestlé's bumper cereal pack has garnered a lot of love from Nestlé fans and digital media. The brand has even had to add a disclaimer to its ads, explaining the fictional multi-pack concept is not set to be created in real life. (We could create the bespoke wrapping solution for it, but it would never fit in anyone’s car, or cupboards!).

Wrapping Ultra Finishing’s largest bathroom products yet

Leading retailer of bathroom and sanitary products, Ultra Finishing, came to YPS looking to meet increased volumes and segregate products by expanding and streamlining their existing packaging facilities. We supplied an 1800mm-wide Inline Automatic Sleeve Sealer and Wide Shrink Tunnel. Both of these bespoke wrapping solutions were wider than Ultra Finishing’s existing shrink wrapping line, allowing for larger bathroom products than ever before to be wrapped at faster speeds. Due to the size of the machinery, additional CE-marked health and safety features were incorporated, such as upgraded guarding, human detection (anyone entering the shrink tunnel would trigger the line to power down) and an integrated low-level film holder to prevent the need to lift heavy rolls of shrink film. Following extensive FAT testing, the full line was delivered and installed at Ultra Finishing ahead of schedule. Since installation, the company has seen improved capacity, efficiency, and pack quality.
