Bringing Bagging To IMHX!

Between the 6th and 8th of September, Team YPS will be present at the IMHX show at Birmingham's NEC. You'll find us on stand 5B49 in hall 5 with a bagging line-up that's not to be missed!

What is IMHX?

The Intralogistics and Material Handling Exhibition is the UK's foremost event for supply chain and logistics professionals. It's become the go-to platform for the movers and shakers in retail, warehousing, manufacturing, and transporting to connect and discover new tech and trends. With a special focus on the e-commerce sector in recent years, IMHX captured our attention as an expo we simply had to attend. That's why we're bringing bagging to Birmingham with an exciting roll-call of machines and materials.

It's our first time exhibiting at the show and we're very much looking forward to experiencing what's behind the hype, as well as connecting with new logistics and e-commerce-focused audiences. We've got a lot to offer businesses in these sectors so we're delighted to be involved! 

Here's what's in store on 5B49: 

We'll have both vertical and horizontal automatic bagging machines in tow as well as swathes of material samples to share from papers to poly bags. All of our machines will be fully powered up working exhibits so that visitors can bring along samples of their own products and see the packaging results first hand. Any B2B order fulfilment operation or B2C e-commerce application can be catered for with our IMHX-bound solutions, which will include:

• The Flexo E-COM: Our all-in-one horizontal unit from Hugo Beck combines bagging with intelligent print and apply labelling to create a powerful warehouse workhorse. Each individual product is scanned at the infeed before a tight shipping bag tailored to the product's exact length is generated from flexible shrink film, a process that involves only minimal material consumption. The internally mounted VULCAN labeller then securely retrieves the pack's data and applies the correct corresponding label before the data is destroyed for GDPR compliance. Label application is pneumatic as opposed to 'tamp', allowing for a high-speed, high throughput operation.

• The MAX PRO 24: This is our stand-out vertical bagging machine delivering speed and precision to any bagging operation. Best of all, its the widest bagging unit of its kind currently available on the market, accepting bags of up to 600mm wide. That's enough to bag two shoeboxes side by side!

• The SX: A true warehouse staple, the SX is our all-electric tabletop bagger, ideal for hand-loaded operations. With a top packing speed of up to 35 bags per minute and boasting direct on-bag thermal transfer printing, it's the perfect entry-level model for any growing e-commerce business.

• Poly Bags: A range of LDPE bags and mailers will be available throughout the show, including our high-impact printed and branded bags. With a number of handy features, including reclosable return strips, handle holes and perforation strips, our poly bags are the perfect partner for our autobagging systems. All 100% recyclable, the blends can also incorporate recycled content for a truly closed-loop solution.

• Papers: A range of 100% recyclable brown and white papers will be on show, including kraft and PE lined variations. Printed papers are also possible, just enquire with our team!

• Shrink films: E-commerce dedicated printed films are available from YPS for horizontal bagging operations. A sample of our branded film will be running on the Flexo E-COM, so be sure to take a peak during your trip! Horizontal operations can also benefit from two-tone bags, where different coloured opaque finishes can be used for the top and bottom layers for a really unique, eye-catching final bag.

The who's who of our IMHX delegates...

Our resident autobagging experts Tom Hill and Lee Williams will be standing by throughout the three-day event to demonstrate the capabilities of our vertical bagging machines as well as show off our LDPE bags and mailers. Meanwhile, our horizontal bagging pro Jonny Braithwaite will be revealing the prowess of the Flexo E-Com and flexible shrink films, alongside a representative from our labelling partner, Clearmark.
